Before Richard Rodgers teamed up with Oscar Hammerstein and wrote such beloved musicals as Oklahoma, Sound of Music and South Pacific, Rodgers wrote nearly 600 songs in a collaboration with lyricist Lorenz Hart. These shows may be long forgotten, but the songs Rodgers and Hart wrote for Broadway productions have stood the test of time. My Funny Valentine, Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, Where or When, The Lady is a Tramp: these are among the hundreds of songs recorded and performed by singers around the world for more than seven decades.
Now acclaimed Bay Area performer Craig Jessup brings his one-man show "Craig Jessup sings Rodgers with Hart" to 142 Throckmorton for one night only. With a trio led by the incomparable musical director and arranger Ken Muir, Jessup will bring fresh arrangements to songs both familiar as well as to some hidden gems. Special Guest: Ruth Hastings!
