Description
This is the second of three homebrew events. 1) Brew it - steeping the grains, adding the yeast and starting the fermentation process 2) Bottle it - after two weeks of fermenting you bottle the beer 3) Drink it - after aging the beer 2-3 weeks you drink it! I brew my own beer and would like to share the process with anyone interested. Home brewed beer tastes fresh, flavorful, and unique. Plus making beer is pretty darn easy and pretty good fun (helped by the implied requirement to drink your last batch while your making your next batch). These three events will be 20% work (making the beer) and 80% drinking good beer. Since we won't finish our own beer until the third event please bring two bottles of a good beer to share for this second event. I love Corona too, but for this event please do not bring any mass-market beers (e.g. Heinken) but instead bring a micro-brew (e.g. anything from Avery). If having to bring a beer would stop you from coming to enjoy then just text me and I'll cover you. Bonus points for anyone who researches their beer and comes prepared to share something about what makes that beer special. Please place the beer you'll be bringing in the comments. If enough people RSVP then I'll have a micro-brew sales rep come (he's a friend of mine) with a sample bottle or two of some nice beers. At this second event we will cover the bottling process. You wash and santize the bottles, transfer the beer from the large glass container (aka carboy) to a bucket, and then siphon the beer into the bottles and cap them using a bottle-capper. At this point the beer will be fermented, but flat, and will require another 2-3 weeks of aging and in-bottle-fermentation before its good.
