
Anyone 18 years of age or older interested in making a difference in the lives of others is welcome to attend this training. Length of training depends on the type of volunteering. A wide range of volunteer experiences are available from office help, to visiting patients, assisting at community events, and fundraising. In demand volunteers in the Mentor area include Attorneys, Pet Therapists, Licensed Massage Therapists, Hair dressers, volunteers who knit or crochet. Volunteers who speak and understand languages other than English are also in demand.
The next series of volunteer classes will be held at the Mentor office at Hospice of the Western Reserve, 5786 Heisley Rd., Mondays and Wednesdays, June 6 - June 27, 6 to 9 p.m. Some types of volunteering require attendance at the first three sessions, while other kinds require attendance at all seven.
