Walking Event:

The 11K trail highlights the many scenic areas of downtown Memphis, Beale St., the Lorraine Motel/Civil Rights Museum, The Bluffs residential area, and the riverwalk along the Mississippi River and is entirely on paved surfaces. Strollers/wheelchairs should have little difficulty but will have to detour one set of steps and one steep hill at the beginning of the walk. On weekends in May you may need to find alternate parking near Visitors Center and the gate from The Bluffs to Riverside Drive may be closed (easy to bypass), due to Memphis In May Celebration at park along the river. Pets are not allowed inside buildings. 6K trail is the first part of the 11K trail (same Special Programs as 11K). The 6K trail covers the downtown area, Beale St., and a portion of the waterfront.
