This is a special benefit concert for the Tri-County Music Association Scholarship Fund. The TCMA assists high school and college students annually with their music education. The TCMA helps to fund the college tuition of area music majors and also helps local high school students pursue summer musical studies in a variety of settings. The TCMA is a non-profit organization that is committed to the education of young musicians in the the Tri-County area (Barnstable, Bristol and Plymouth counties of Massachusetts). The New Black Eagle Jazz Band has been a fixture on the international jazz scene since 1971, bringing the sounds of traditional New Orleans Jazz to audiences all over the world. Many observers regard them as the premier band playing in the traditional jazz style. They offer a wonderfully spirited journey into the history of American Jazz. The Southcoast Jazz Orchestra is a fairly new organization that has enjoyed enormous success especially with their Monday evening series at the Airport Grille in New Bedford, MA. Those of you who have had trouble getting a seat at the Airport Grille (it is usually packed!) will welcome the opportunity to hear this fine group in a concert setting.
