What better time to indulge in chocolate desserts than right before Valentine's day! Join us in eating our hearts out as we support the Wamego free health clinic by tasting great chocolate desserts and trying out Vin Vivante's wines. The clinic serves a mostly elderly shut in clientel and are nationally recognized for their community work. The Chocolate Fest is a contest between about 20 or so people or companies who believe they can make a great chocolate dessert. There is also an auction of some of the desserts. That's fun too. The winery pours free wine for all of those who want wine with their chocolate. Start Time is at 6 PM and it ends at 8 PM (but last year there were chocolate eating hanger's on til 9 or so). Tickets sold out before the event last year so RSVP as soon as you know if you would like to attend so that I can get tickets reserved for the group. Tickets sell for around $10 (will confirm this). Last year the event raised about $2500. HyVee Kitchen is planning on having their chocolatier enter something this year. Last year's commercial dessert maker was the culinary staff at Meadowlark Residence center and the school age prize winner was the culinary arts program over at Rock Creek. It was a lot of chocolate, the winery gave away a lot of wine, and a lot of money was raised for a good cause.
