Volunteer for the Thanksgiving Day Parade

Themed "60 Years of Dreams Come True," this year's parade will celebrate our 60th anniversary of making Dreams Come True for thousands of Houstonians over the years. Brightly animated floats, giant helium-filled balloons, cheerleaders, drill teams, dancers, and marching bands will bring this celebration to life on the streets of downtown Houston. When:November 26, 2009 (Thanksgiving Day) Volunteer shift 6:00am until 10:30am. Parade televised live at 9:00am on Channel 11 Event:HEB Holiday Parade Participate this year in the H-E-B Holiday Parade as one of the hundreds of volunteers who play a vital role in bringing the parade to life. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. * Reserved Seating Ushers * Banner or Balloon Carrier * Admission Ticket Taker * Sponsor Area (parking, usher, server) * Costume Character ( you will need to provide height/weight and measurements to be fitted for a costume) * Parade Marshal (must attend a mandatory training session. Without volunteers a lot of events like this would not be available. Now is your chance to give back and have fun as well, and do it with your friends. You are welcome to volunteer on your own or you can join in as a group. Last year I volunteered to the Sponsor area. We set up snacks, drinks, and coffee. When the parade started we walked 20 feet to the VIP area to see all of the floats, bands, and entertainment up close.
