Event details: La Traviata
Description
There will be more than 80 artists on stage, with the State Orchestra of the Kiev Music Palace, which comprises more than 50 musicians, directed by Voronko Evgen and the participation of sopranos Olga Fomichova and Johana Simon, who will perform on Sunday and is represented by CompañÃa Estudio LÃrico.
A great production is coming to Teatro de Madrid for the second consecutive year to stage one of the best and most often performed operas in history: 'La Traviata'.
This popular piece by Giuseppe Verdi, which is based on 'The Lady of the Camellias' by Alexande Dumas, is about the relationship of a boy from a good family who is happy living with a courtesan until tuberculosis puts an end to this relationship. 'La Traviata' was premiered in 1853 at La Fenice theatre in Venice.
Conductor Voronko Evgen was born in Kiev in 1972 and graduated from P. I. Tchaikovsky State Music Academy. He has been the director of Kiev's Municipal Opera and Ballet Theatre since 1998. He has an extensive repertoire of operas and symphonic pieces.
The State Orchestra of the Kiev Music Palace was founded 15 years ago by teachers from the Kiev Music Academy. Its repertoire comprises masterpieces by Tchaikovsky, Ravel, Beethoven, Karl Oit Mallior and Strauss. The orchestra has toured throughout the USA, Japan, Korea, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Great Britain and France, which have been a huge success with both critics and audiences.
Born in Kiev, Ukraine, Olga Fomivhoca studied singing at Kiev's Music Academy and made her debut in the city's theatre during 2003 in the opera 'La Travista'. She has won numerous awards at prestigious international competitions and is also known for her performance of religious music and arias in concerts. Since 2006 she has been a soloist for the Ukraine National Opera.
La CompañÃa Estudio LÃrico came onto the Spanish music scene in 2003 due to an initiative started by musicologist and teacher Belkis DomÃnguez and stage director and opera tenor Lorenzo Mock.
They chose a group of young musicians, opera singers, actors and dancers from Spain and Latin America to offer light operas and Spanish operetta and fill the gap left by large foreign productions that were only available as part of tours and for large venues.USEFUL INFORMATION
