Volunteer for the AIDS network ACT 8 ride

We had a blast at the last AIDS network vounteer opportunity! So I'm posting their next big event! Vounteer July 29-August 1, 2010! I'm not sure if I'll be there or not, but since the volunteer oportunities fall over several dates, this is mostly an event to do on your own or to find a friend to volunteer with. From the ACT 8 ride website: Can't do the full ride this year? Be a day volunteer! On the days of the ACT 8 ride, July 29-August 1, 2010, we will need many volunteers to help out with the opening ceremony, registration, camp services, food services, pit stops, monitoring, and more. Volunteer opportunities are also available before the ride even starts - from helping with data entry to hanging posters around town, we have a job that can be done. There is no registration fee to volunteer so what�s stopping you? Those interested need to fill out information on the website. About the ride: What is the route? What is it like? After the opening ceremony on July 29, 2010 in Madison, Wisconsin, ACT 8 will begin its four-day tour. The exact route is not yet finalized and is subject to change due to road construction or other issues. The route will be fully planned and marked, will be on bicycle-friendly roads, and will have full safety support. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking! Since we are riding in southwestern Wisconsin, there will be hills every day, some days more than others. ACT 8 days will be roughly 65 miles Day 1, 85 miles Day 2, 100 miles Day 3 and 50 miles on Day 4. The total mileage will be about 300 miles. The route will be mostly flat or rolling, with more hills this year to keep it interesting. Hope you can volunteer! -Regina
