Wisconsin men’s hockey continues homestand with Alaska Anchorage weekend series
1973 NCAA championship team honored Friday; Scott Mellanby, Steve Alley honorary captains for the weekend

No. 20 Wisconsin (9-8-5, 6-5-5 WCHA) plays its first WCHA home games since Dec. 7-8 when Alaska Anchorage (3-14-5, 1-13-4 WCHA) visits this Friday and Saturday for games at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., CT, respectively.

Wisconsin is 5-0-3 in its last eight WCHA contests, including two victories at Alaska Anchorage on Jan. 4-5.

Continuing the celebration of the 50th season in the modern era of Badger hockey, Wisconsin honors the 40th anniversary of the 1973 NCAA championship, the school’s first. Returning members of the team will be introduced during the first intermission of Friday’s game.

Honorary captains for this weekend include Scott Mellanby on Friday and Steve Alley on Saturday. Also this Sunday, Wisconsin hosts “Skate with the Badgers” from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Kohl Center. Fans can bring their skates and skate on the ice, get autographs and photos with Badger players and coaches and take a tour of the new locker room.
