Description
Donald Spencer Student Recreation Center: Macomb, IL
The entry fee for the tournament is 15$, which covers up to all three events, and there is also a further discount to those who provide directors and or strips. This tournament is NOT U.S.F.A. sanctioned.
Events Scheduled:
Mixed Epee: 2:30 P.M.
Mixed Foil: 12:30 P.M.
Mixed Saber: 3:30 P.M.
There is a Waiver that will need to be signed at the door. For your convenience the waiver is posted here, so you may print it out and sign it beforehand.
Locker Rooms, and bathrooms are provided for you. There is a small concession stand provided for you on the main floor. There are no vending machines in the building.
The tournament itself will be fenced on one of the basket ball courts. There will be signs/people to direct you to the proper area.

The discount for this tournament is as follows. The club must provide an electric fencing strip, OR a director. While it is encouraged that club provides both it is not required. Upon providing either one of these two things, all members of the club that provided this will be given a 10$ discount on the entry fee for the tournament.
Also, the entry fee pays for all three events, so whether you pay 15$ or 5$, once you've paid, you're allowed to fence in any of the events you wish to fence in.

Head West Bound on Adams Street (Sherman Hall will be on your right)
Turn RIGHT at North Western Avenue (stop sign)
Go straight at Riverview Drive (stop sign)
Go straight at University Drive (stop sign)
Turn RIGHT onto University Drive (Stop sign)
Turn RIGHT at the first stop sign in front of the student recreation center, the center will be on your right, and the parking lot will be on your left. Parking will be free and available because it is the weekend.
(To avoid confusion there are two University Drive's, the first one is a T-intersection, where you can only turn left or go straight, the second one is a 3 way intersection where you can only turn right, or go straight. So go straight at the first one and right at the second one.)

A simpler batch of directions is if you are approaching from Hwy 67 (heading south on Lafayette) then simply turn RIGHT onto University Drive (it is the first stoplight after you pass the sign that says welcome to Macomb) then turn left at the first stop sign and you'll be there. (parking lot on left building on right)

Also, there will be some small prizes for the top 3 fencers of each tournament, no medals or trophies (sorry) but it will still be something good. We will also be selling DVD's of the semi-finals and finals of each event at 5$ a piece, and proceeds will go to helping the club purchase more equipment.

Addendum:
Because the WIU Student Recreation Center has a stricter than normal policy regarding cameras (and because the video taping and releasing of DVD's of each of the semi-final and final bouts is also planned) We are asking participants to sign a media release waiver, as well as the original safety waiver. It will be on this site within a week for you to download for your convenience. If you have any questions let me know.
