New Year's Day at Clifty Falls

Shake off the New Year's Eve cobwebs and join us for a great day hike in Clifty Falls State Park in Madison Indiana. Meet at the Krogers in Holiday Manor at 8:15AM to carpool to the park (park near Arby's) as we take the Kentucky route to the park. Arrive at Clifty Falls at about 9:30 AM and park in the main lodge parking lot. For a map of the trails, check the following: http://www.indianaoutfitters.com/Cliftyofmap.htm Here's the plan: We'll begin on the Fire Tower trail and begin our exploration of the Clifty Creek canyon. Our route will depend on conditions, but we will be checking out all of the big 4 waterfalls in the park (Hoffman Falls, Tunnel Falls, Big and Little Clifty Falls.) We'll hike some trail as well as creek bed and we'll even see some waterfalls seldom seen by the average visitor. It's a moderate hike that can be strenuous if muddy/slippery. Bring food for energy, but we'll try to return to the lodge before 2:30PM for the lunch buffet. I really enjoy this park and this will be the first time I've hiked it in the winter. I hope it is cold enough for some ice, and some snow would be awesome. Dress warm, and see you Friday morning at Kroger's. But the last time I went, we got there early enough that we entered free of charge. FYI
