Description
Closed major holidays (call first to check). Sat. 7am-6 pm, Sun. 8am-6pm, M-Th. 5:45 am-9pm, Fri. 5:45am-7pm. Hours may shorten slightly in winter months. CALL TO CONFIRM. Non-residents may use rec center facility (incl nice pool) for a nominal fee. (currently $5.) Route is a combination of paved and soft-surface walking/biking trails through open space and city parks and the charming historic town center. Lots of opportunities to peek in shops or stop in a cafe along Main St in this former mining town. Pretty mountain views and good bird watching (especially hawks during winter. Water, sunscreen and hat are recommended as much of the trail is open and exposed. Jog strollers are best suited to the gravel paths.
