Sister was opened in Chinatown, Los Angeles in January 2004 by Katie Brennan with the aim of presenting a program of smart, diverse, and exciting young artists based in locally, nationally, and internationally and to help in the development of their careers. We intend to continue expanding our program through our exhibitions, participation of our artists in museum and additional gallery exhibitions, and participation in international art fairs.

Sister is opening a collaborative space called "Cottage Home" in Chinatown, with two other respected Los Angeles galleries; China Art Objects and Thomas Solomon. They are sharing a large 4000 square foot renovated movie theater and launching with an inaugural group show in July 12 -August 16, 2008 and then will begin rotating the space in September with each gallery presenting their own programs.
