6:30-10:30: Otmaro Ruiz DuoBorn in Caracas, Venezuela, Otmaro Ruiz started his musical studies at the age of 8. After gaining recognition as a performer, composer, producer at home, he moved to Los Angeles , where he earned a Master in Jazz Performance from CALARTS. Since then, Otmaro Ruizâs work has ranged from straight-ahead jazz to Pop-Rock, from authentic Salsa & Afro-Cuban to the most exciting Fusion. A partial list of his credits includes work with: Arturo Sandaval, Dianne Reeves, Herb Alpert, Charlie Haden, Brigitte Nielsen, Dori Caymmi....and many more.
