Watching Emily Wells piece together a song brings to mind a disciplined gourmet chef at work. The L.A.-based Wells is a violin prodigy, and her music is equal parts eerie vocals and loop-upon-loop of violin (she used up to 21 violin tracks for some songs on her self-released EP, Dirty), topped with a few precisely measured xylophone phrases and a dash of ukulele.
