Description
So let's ease into our new found group with a new member "meet and greet" over cocktails. Join me for Happy Hour at Chaya Brasserie : Located just off trendy Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles, Chaya Brasserie has remained an enduring success for over 23 years, catering to an endless stream of discriminating diners and celebrities, as well as a loyal following that continues to return nightly. The lure is the distinctive East/West cooking by Executive Chef Shigefumi Tachibe, who first introduced Los Angeles to Franco-Japanaise cooking at the legendary La Petit Chaya in the 1980's. Even the name reflects the mix of the French "Brasserie" with "Chaya", a Japanese teahouse steeped in the traditions of warm, personal service. Chaya Brasserie also has a very popular outdoor patio which has become one of the most popular areas to sit in this 23 year hot spot. The Scene The striking setting begins with a central bamboo tree opening into a beautiful dining space of black-tiled floors and slanted mirrors. A bustling bar crowd blends into a busy dining room where there are few intimate conversations. The professional waitstaff floats expertly through the buzz to deliver attentive service. The Food Owner Yuji Tsunoda began his L.A. legend of Asian-inspired French cuisine in the '80s. The best dishes here are the signature rib eye steak in savory, three-peppercorn butter and Chaya chicken with pommes frites or mashed potatoes. Don't be afraid to order chicken: The free-range bird surrenders to the fork with natural flavor enhanced by creamy Dijon and mashed potatoes (or stellar fries). This place has gotten great reviews so lets try it out for ourselves. Happy Hour runs from 5-8 , street parking is available free after 6:00 or you can valet for $4.50
