Event details: Walking Event: Los Alamos Historic Sites
Description
Center Hours are MON-FRI: 9:00am - 5:00pm; SAT: 9:00am - 4:00pm; SUN: 10:00am - 3:00pm. Closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. This walk through the historic community that is home to the Los Alamos National Laboratory includes stunning views of the Jemez and Sangre de Christo Mountains and Plateaus. The walk takes you through quiet city streets and through neighborhoods that were devastated by the 2001 Cerro Grande fire. Enjoy this invigorating walk above 7,300 feet elevation, take in the historic atmosphere embedded in this scientific community and view the many historic sites along the walk.
