Let's Meet at the Met: Who's your Mummy? (Field Trip & Class) (UES)

Today's theme is "Let's Meet at the Met: Who's your Mummy?" Let's meet the Mummies and learn all about pyramids! Kids will learn about Egypt, hieroglyphics & more! Lesson Plan: We will explore the Egyptian area and the Temple of Dendur Kids will watch short 2-3 min videos about Egypt, mummies, pharaohs & pyramids We will look at a new shape- The pyramid, and see which shape (that we already know is on it). I will read stories about Egypt & Mummies. We will make sand art. Kids will look at simply hieroglyphics and learn the meaning of them. Kids will write their names in hieroglyphics. We will practice "walking like an Egyptian!" And more! Review: We will do a quick review of everything the kids learned- repetition is the best way to remember! Kids will be provided with a healthy Halloween themed snack and drink, or you may bring your own. After class, the fun doesn't end. Kids can stay & play with us in the near the Temple! NOTE: Parental/ Caregiver participation and/or encouragement may be required to help the child to succeed during the class. This is NOT a drop-off class. There is a stroller accessible entrance on 5th ave and 81st St. RECOMMENDED AGE: 2 years- 5 years old CLASS LASTS FROM 11 AM- 12:30 PM/ give or take some fun & play time PRICE: ONLY $20/child, this fee includes all materials, class fee and a snack. Check out your local weather Subway, bus, taxi, walking directions (copy and paste the address listed above into the destination field) IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND HERE'S WHAT TO DO NEXT: If you are 200% sure that you can attend then RSVP "YES". WHEN YOU RSVP "YES" PLEASE PAY THE CLASS FEE. ONLY RSVP FOR THE NUMBER OF KIDS ATTENDING, SO IF 1 KID IS ATTENDING YOU DON'T COUNT YOURSELF AS A GUEST. TO REDUCE "NO-SHOWS": If you RSVP "YES" and your Payment is not received, or you don't contact (call or email) the organizer at least 12 hours before the event, your RSVP will be cancelled. You can make your donation with a major credit or debit card here if you don't have a paypal account Don't forget to keep your RSVP updated.*-) If you would like to pay in person, please let me know. Keep our Bylaws in mind when attending any event. Look to see who else will be attending, and if they live nearby maybe you can ride together. If you have a last minute change in plans (2 hours before the event) please call the host/ organizer to let her know. Each class will last for approximately 1 hour, some classes may run a bit longer, (if we are having too much fun!) Classes are paid on an à la carte basis- $25- $10 per class. (If you will be paying online add $1 for service fee, contact me if you would like to pay in person). If you host a class in your home, you get a 50% discount! (HOWEVER IF NO ONE ELSE RSVPs TO ATTEND, THE HOST WILL HAVE TO PAY THE FULL FEE FOR THE ORGANIZER/ TEACHER TO COME TO THEIR HOME. A host/ any group member may invite others with kids of the appropriate ages to the group, so that more kids can benefit from the class, and it can be more cost-effective for everyone.) I will provide a juice and healthy snack if you request it. I will provide name tags, hand sanitizer, crayons and all other supplies. If something extra is needed, I will notify you.
