Last year’s inaugural Troubadour Poetry Prize instantly established Troubadour Prize Night as a major poetry-calendar event due to wealth of submissions, range & quality of prizewinning & commended poems—by published & first-time poets alike—and to the ‘sold-out’ prizegiving celebration!

This year’s event brings together everyone who‘s anyone—or wants to be—in the poetry firmament, to hear who’s made it, to listen to readings of winning poems by the poets themselves and to enjoy readings of their own poetry by our 2008 judges, two leading contemporary poets: Poetry-Society President & twice-National-winner Jo Shapcott has published 3 collections & a ‘selected’, Her Book: Poems 1988-1998 (Faber); novelist & freelance theatre director Stephen Knight reviews for TLS & Independent on Sunday—his poetry collections include Dream City Cinema (Bloodaxe).
