"Help Portrait": Time to give

This is a world wide service opportunity. Please see the video at www.help-portrait.com for the initiator's main ideas. Basically, it's giving a beautiful portrait as service during the holidays to someone who might not otherwise be able to have a nice portrait. I'm thinking of families who have had a hard time lately, widows/widowers who may not have very much to give at the holidays, like Jerry said: maybe a single parent who works hard for her/his family (or maybe the kids of that parent as a gift). We are a blessed group who are pretty fortunate overall and we have a talent that can actually change a life--think of the influence on self worth and confidence a portrait can have! I know that I have already experienced this a few times when I have traveled to other cities and photographed strangers of all kinds in Parks: for a little while, I have seen homeless, jobless people shine as I made their portrait. We can show people how beautiful they are. This link is our page for discussion and information about our planning and organization to make this event happen here in Cache Valley. It is a place where we can coordinate with the other participants. I hope that we can arrange for other professionals to be involved, too--hairdressers, make-up artists, maybe even clothing suppliers, and someone to bring hot chocolate--as well as anyone who'd like to help out.
