Back-to-School Bowl 2012

Summer is here…The temperature is rising, barbeque grills are being fired up, and it is a special time for family and friends.

For many, summer is a great opportunity to spend time with family and friends on the beach, at the park, or in the comfort of their back yards.  While summer is a time of relaxation for many, this cannot be said of those living in homeless shelters, particularly children. Although children are quite resilient, the devastating effects of homelessness may have a far more reaching impact than we realize.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?

Paula Ratchford Ministries invites you to donate toward the purchase of new backpacks complete with grade- appropriate school supplies for distribution to children in grades K through 12 residing in homeless shelters in Metropolitan Detroit and surrounding areas. Not only will backpacks complete with grade-appropriate school supplies prepare children for the upcoming school year, but they will have something they can call their own.

Tickets for this exciting event are twenty dollars ($20) and include three (3) hours of bowling, pizza, soda, and rental of bowling shoes. A Silent Auction will be held at the bowling fundraiser.  Proceeds received will be utilized to assist in funding Back-to-School Initiative 2012.

Make this a family affair and invite relatives, friends, and coworkers to this night of fun, fellowship, and “friendly  competition.”
