PAY IT FORWARD-Feed the Youth at Urban Peak

I was privileged to participate in feeding the youth through RAK a few times this year. My heart aches for these children who call Urban Peak their home (I have more than one story that will bring a tear to your eye). The only way these teenagers eat are through volunteer events such as this. I hope that members will find it in their hearts to want to do this as a group once a month! Each month will be a "themed meal". I will post the theme next to my Yes RSVP. Next to your YES RSVP please list what you plan on bringing so we don't double up on one item. We need everything for an entire meal (no sodas but milk is appreciated). Plan on bringing enough food to feed two dozen people or so. There are usually 25 to 40 teens there for lunch. I need your RSVP to be updated with what you are bringing no later than the Wednesday prior to the Meetup. Volunteer events are those that require 100% participation and No No-Shows. The best way to transport food is through disposable containers so that you can leave leftovers with them. We will have complete access to the kitchen. I'm asking for volunteers to start arriving at 12:30PM if you need to prepare the food and 1pm if you are ready to set up and no food preparation required. Lunch is served at 1:30PM. While the teens are eating I like to sit with them and talk to them. You are welcome to bring your children to participate as long as they are with you at all times. Just understand that some of these teens are a bit rough around the edges and may use foul language without much thought. BUT they are also so grateful and will leave you with a smile on your face and warmth in your heart you will experience when you do something good for someone else.
