Community Theatre of Little Rock Presents its Summer Musical Production of
Mark O’Donnell and Thomas Meehan’s “Hairspray”

The Community Theatre of Little Rock is pleased to present its Summer Musical Production of "Hairspray”. Show dates are July 13^th , 14^th, 20^th,21^st, 27^th and 28^th at 7:30 pm and July 15^th, 22^nd and 29^th at 2pm to be held at the PUBLIC Theatre, located at 616 Center Street, next to Horn’s Men’s Store in downtown Little Rock.

Regular admission is $16 for adults and $14 for military, students and seniors age 65 and over. Groups of 10 or more can get in for $14. Children age six and under are given free admission. Bring a pair of gently used running shoes and receive $1.00 off your admission.

The Hairspray cast has scheduled a ‘Pocket Preview’* of the show July 12^th  at 7:30pm. On this one night, admission is whatever the patron can pay. *CTLR’s “Pocket Previews” are actually final dress rehearsals which are open to the public. No admission is required, but we will be accepting donations to support the theatre. No reservations will be accepted, as seating is strictly on a first-come, first-serve basis.

An Overview of Hairspray

HAIRSPRAY delighted audiences by sweeping them away to 1960’s Baltimore, where the 50’s are out – and change is in the air. Loveable plus-sized heroine, Tracy Turnblad, has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, “The Corny Collins Show.” Overnight she finds herself transformed from outsider to teen celebrity. Can a larger-than-life adolescent manage to vanquish the program’s reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love (singing and dancing all the while, of course!) without mussing her hair?
