Details: In honor of the upcoming Veteran`s Day holiday, Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site welcomes General David Hall for a special guest lecture and book signing on Monday, November 9, 2009 at the Historic Site Visitor Center from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.General Hall will present a lecture and sign copies of his book The ABC`s of Leadership. Pamela Abrams, EEO Program Manager / Minority Veterans Program Coordinator for the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, also will speak about current issues facing veterans, such as: benefits, programs, health care and education. The Central High School Color Guard will present the Colors and staff from the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History will display information about military history in Arkansas.General Hall enlisted in the United States Air Force where he honed his leadership skills as he moved from Airman to Basic to Brigadier General over his 31 year career. During his career, Hall served in several career areas, but most of his time was spent in financial management and information processing. He served as a base commander in Illinois and in another assignment managed over $38 billion of federal funds. He has received several awards and decorations in the United States Air Force.The ABC`s of Leadership is about the 26 characteristics that have been proven to assist people in becoming better leaders. "Too often leaders are leaders in title or position and not in reality. Many people in leadership positions continue to be a manager. The real budding leader is in the process of mastering the art of influence," said Hall. "These characteristics added to higher ability to influence will only enhance their leadership ability, but also ease the leader`s role in influencing others."
