CLOCKWORK
Clockwork, South Carolina's premier Hip Hop duo, consisting of members Rodrick Belton, aka Soulstar and Maurice Sheffield, aka Palmetto Cheetah was formed in the dorm rooms of Francis Marion University in 1998. Both members had visions of stardom and quickly began to develop a style unmatched by their peers. The Clockwork sound is one that gracefully blends hip-hop with elements of soul, funk, jazz, and the blues. With the use of complex cadences, mulit-layered tracks, flawless melodies, and cleverly written rhymes, the duo vividly narrates stories dealing with love, pain, happiness, politics, and the occasional braggadocio rhyme.
