Dumplin Days at Fiddlers Grove

Mark your calendars for April 24, 2010 to enjoy Storytelling and Dumplin Days held in historic Fiddlers Grove at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center. The day-long event will feature a dumpling cook-off, storytelling by world-renowned story spinners, a 5-k run, corn hole tournament, marble shooting tournament, puppet shows, gospel music, bluegrass music, a Hee Haw show, a checker tournament, quilt show and much much more.
Are you a Chicken and Dumpling diva or a gastronome with a great recipe for an Apple Dumpling? Folks from all over are invited to show off their cooking skills in the Dumpling Cook-off with prizes awarded to first, second and third place winners. Both good ole home-style Chicken and Dumplings or other savory style dumplings and sweet Dumpling entries will be accepted.

If cooking isn’t for you then how about eating? Imagine enjoying tasty dumplings from one of the many vendors while sitting among the shade trees of Fiddlers Grove listening to gifted storytellers ply their trade from the back stage of the old country store. There is plenty of entertainment for the whole family. Shop a little and watch demonstrations of vendors make products like they did in the good old days, watch demonstrations and play old time games, tour historic Fiddlers Grove, join the old time church revival and hear plenty of good gospel and bluegrass music and take in the quilt show all while the kids enjoy balloon animals, puppet shows, storytelling, and games of their own.
