Texas for Civil War Days at Liendo Plantation in Hempstead for a battlefield reenactment. The re-enactment takes place annually in November. We will travel to Hempstead for the Saturday activities. Note the schedule. Cost is $10. per person. We will pay at the door. ... more info: We will depart Border's on Bay Area Blvd and I-45 at 7:00 a.m. We will stop along the way for a hearty breakfast and arrive at Liendo Plantation before 10:00 "Ladies Tea on the Gazbo." From their site: "Vignettes performed on left side of the Plantation House at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30. Music and dance demonstrations will be performed on the lawn throughout each day." "Demonstrators on the lawn such as blacksmith, spinning, quilting, soap and furniture making, etc.also demonstrations though the camps daily." Places to eat nearby are in Hempstead.
