The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino offers its guests a unique, elegant experience that provides a little bit of heaven in Sin City. The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino opened in 1999 and sits on the site of the now-demolished Sands Hotel. Its large and opulent design was unlike anything else in Las Vegas at the time and garnered attention for its Italian-inspired details, like the Grand Canal and stunning illusionistic ceiling paintings. The Venetian soon gained a reputation for its world class entertainment, which currently consists of comedians Tim Allen, David Spade, Joan Rivers, and Rita Rudner. Beginning with the Blue Man Group in 2005, the resort became popular for its schedule of Broadway hits. The Venetian's entertainment now includes a special, elaborate reworking of The Phantom of the Opera called Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular and the hit jukebox musical, Jersey Boys.
