Description

Downtown Las Vegas' tallest hotel, the 34-story Fitzgeralds hotel and casino, has over 600 rooms with terrific views at reasonable prices in the heart of legendary Fremont Street.

Yes, as you might guess from the four-leafed clover in its logo, an Irish theme (tasteful amounts of green and gold) carries the motif. A little extra luck can't hurt in the two-level, 42,000-square-foot casino, which has more than 30 different table games - including Las Vegas' first Pai Gow Mania - and nearly 1,000 slots plus a poker room.

Fitzgeralds' restaurants run from the ubiquitous McDonald's to Don B's Steakhouse, which has an in house butcher shop. In between, there's Molly's Buffet (with a special seafood spread on Fridays) and the 24-hour Shamrock Café.

The entertainment theme is old-school rock 'n' roll performances such as "Spirit of the King," a Vegas-style Elvis tribute by (who else?) an Irish guy named Steve Connolly, in the second-floor showroom. Outside there's more free entertainment, courtesy of the mega-watt Fremont Street Experience, which features live music on weekends under the giant canopy.

For the business traveler, Fitzgeralds has convention space and a business center.

There is a pool and Jacuzzi for unwinding after a long day of meetings or playing.
