Description
What will The YearlyKos Convention be? Imagine... 1,000 raving liberals gathered together to change the world. Imagine they might have many high-profile speakers and contributors prepared to help, from Lakoff to Dean, from Garofalo to Franken. Now imagine YOU are running the show, YOU set the Agenda, YOU decide what is discussed, YOU decide who specifically should address each issue and topic. YOU have the power to orchestrate the symphony that will be the YearlyKos Convention...

The idea of an annual meeting of the DailyKos community was brought to life by Dan Schultz, known online as pastordan. The community supported the idea. Diaries were written, committees were formed, and conference calls were made; but our enthusiasm outran our organization and three of us were left to rebuild the foundation upon which this idea could take flight. We believe that the DailyKos community is an amazing place and that a National Convention is an important event that must happen.
The YearlyKos Convention will be planned by the community. As organizers, we're here to provide the structure and do the work to make it a success. The content and format of the convention will come from you - your ideas, your passions, and your input. Our goal is to help the DailyKos build a convention that boasts all the community has to offer.
We've adopted a mission: to bring together members of the DailyKos.com community & the progressive movement through conventions, training, & advocacy.
We've adopted a philosophy: we do not "own" the YearlyKos Convention, we are here to help the DailyKos Community build it.
The success of this endeavor rests on your willingness to accept this vision and participate. If you believe in this vision and want to make it a reality, please check the volunteer section for what you can do.
Please look around and explore. The YearlyKos website will become a one-stop shop for all YearlyKos Convention information. As you tour, please forgive any "loose ends" as the site is still growing.
