Walking Event: Mesilla

Register at the Days Inn (formerly Best Western) and drive 1.1 miles on Avenida de Mesilla to Oñate Plaza to begin either walk. This event has both Primary and Alternate Trails. Primary Trail is rated 1, suitable for strollers. This walk will take you to Historic Old Mesilla, the Plaza and San Albino Cemetery along city streets, dirt and gravel irrigation canals. Thirty-two historic points of interest are noted on the trail map, including many buildings on the National Historic Register. Alternate Trail is rated 1, suitable for strollers. This walk is along irrigation canals, along recreation trail along the Rio Grande, and some paved streets. Only ONE Event Credit is allowed even if completing both routes. Trails include walk to the Rio Grande River.
