Description
Recent work by the students of Carolyn Bunch will be displayed in the Shannon Gallery at the Branigan Cultural Center during August. The exhibit of drawings and paintings will open with an artist reception on Friday, August 1, 2008 and runs through August 30, 2008.

Collectively known as the Monday Studio Group, the twelve artists are Jennifer Goude, Ellen Green, Carol Groves, Bette Hall, Carlitta Harvey, Caryl Kotulak, Sybil Perlmutter, Celine Rothermeyer, Jane Rogstad, Jill Steinhoff, Robbie Troestler, and Carleene Wimberly.

Each artist will be showing three recent pieces along with a description of the medium that was used. “This will add an educational dimension to the exhibit” stated Garland Courts, Branigan Cultural Center Manager.

The Cultural Center, 501 N. Main, is located at the north end of the downtown mall. The exhibit is free. Galleries are open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 pm. Branigan Cultural Center
The Branigan Cultural Center has as its focus the history and culture of the region around Las Cruces. Built during the Great Depression to serve as the City’s main library, this building was rededicated as a city cultural facility in 1981.

The Branigan Cultural Center is comprised of several small galleries and the larger Shannon Room, which is a temporary exhibition gallery and performance hall. Permanent and changing exhibitions and educational programming provide insight into the region’s interesting past and lively present.

Open Hours are Monday-Friday 10-4 and Saturday 9-1.
