Description:
In the early 20th century, over 12 million immigrants entered the U.S. through the gates of Ellis Island, forever changing the cultural and genealogical landscape of our country. This original work uses dance, film and audio interviews, and actor re-enactments to capture the voices of immigrants who passed through Ellis Island as children in one of the greatest human migrations ever. Each "song" represents a different stage of the immigration experience, and every effort is made to preserve the stories as originally told.
