Intro to Computers (four-session course)

Lancaster Public Library is pleased to offer free computer classes to the public. Classes are given by experienced library volunteers Introduction to Computers provides basic-level instruction on how to use a PC running the Windows 2010 operating system. Skills taught include:

  • Basic terminology
  • Using the mouse
  • Start menu
  • Single click vs Double click
  • Notepad
  • Blinking cursor
  • Arrow keys
  • Backspace and Delete keys
  • Minimize, Maximize and Close buttons
  • Using multiple windows
  • Scroll bars
  • Click and drag
  • Removing text
  • Moving text
  • Editing text
  • Shift key
  • Caps lock key
 Where: Computer Training Room on the second floor of the Duke Street library When: August 9th, 16th, 23rd, & 30th from 10:30am-12pm.Registration is required and please do so only if you can attend all of the sessions listed for the class. Prerequisites: Must have a Lancaster County library card in good standing. Must be 18 or older.  Please call the reference desk at 394-2651 x105 with any questions. Metered parking is available on Duke Street and behind the library. The Duke Street Garage is also across the street from the library.
