Description
World-renowned trumpet virtuoso Allen Vizzutti joins the Tacoma Concert Band for a concert that will dazzle and delight! Vizzutti has performed with many of the world's leading artists and ensembles, from "Doc" Severinsen and the Tonight Show Orchestra to the Tokyo Philharmonic, and as guest soloist with numerous symphony orchestras here and abroad. His solo performances at such diverse venues as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Newport Jazz Festival have drawn rave reviews. He has been Artist in Residence at such schools as the Eastman School of Music and Ohio State University, and he currently holds that position at the University of Washington. This is a rare opportunity to hear a truly gifted trumpet player as well as the award-winning Tacoma Concert Band in the beautiful surroundings of Tacoma's Pantages Theater.

Tacoma Concert Band
Now in its 27th season, the Tacoma Concert Band has become recognized as the Pacific Northwest's premier symphonic band. An all-volunteer ensemble of 60 of the finest wind and percussion musicians from throughout the Puget Sound region, the TCB performs a repertoire ranging from popular to classical, traditional to avant garde, Stravinsky to Sousa. Its mission is threefold: to provide the community with a professional-quality wind ensemble; to give local musicians a challenging performance opportunity; and to support our region's school music programs.Post a Countdown Widget
