Description

Che Cafe San Diego is a student run collective with a shared vision for an alternative community. Set up in 1980, the Che Cafe San Diego started life as a vegetarian cafe - this focus on reasonably priced and healthy food being one which continues to this day. The Che Cafe San Diego has three additional focal points; organic gardening, all-ages shows and radical (leftist, progressive) politics.

As a music and entertainment venue, the Che Cafe San Diego serves to provide a platform for local and indie musicians, with a view to making these performances available to all through extremely low admission prices. Over the years, numerous well-known artists have embraced the Che Cafe San Diego venue; Jimmy Eat World, Billy Corgan, Bon Iver, Animal Collective and Green Day are just a few of those featured on the Che Cafe schedule in the past.

The venue is proud to welcome events from all areas of the arts, and as such, poetry slams, open mics, and film screenings are all common inclusions on the Che Cafe schedule.
