Walking Event: Daley Ranch

Daley Ranch is classic old California ranch property that has been set aside by the state and is hugely popular with local hikers. The 6K route is rated 3. It's a loop that goes to the ranch house. You ll walk on the park road (pedestrian only) and dirt trails. There are roller coaster-ish hills but nothing too long or strenuous. The pay-off is "top of the world" mountain views. It s a terrific quickie" hike! The 10K, rated 2, explores the "Jack Creek Meadow" loop. It's relatively flat other than an incline for about a half mile at the start. This lovely nature walk is suitable for most walkers. The 16K "Daley Ranch Challenge" route is rated 4+ and is a grand tour of Daley Ranch. It s a great training walk if you need something with both distance and hills. You ll get great views and a true sense of gracious old California on this walk. The hills are spaced out so you get a chance to catch your breath. It s one of the best hikes in the area in our opinion!
