      Girls Survival Camp 2019

My name is Andrew McDonald and I teach 1st grade at Alcoa Elementary School. I attained Eagle Scout at 18 and I have been in the Air National Guard for 20 years. Many experiences through living life, being in the military, and living in another country for several years has taught me the importance of being prepared. This summer will be my 3rd summer teaching Girl’s survival camp at Cornerstone Church of Knoxville. I love seeing children learn to work together as a team and have the opportunity to talk through scenarios that might not go perfectly. We have so much fun together learning about the world around us and how to interact through some of its challenges.  The camp motto is “Learn.  Grow.  Lead.”  Children learn skills and grow through practice until they are able to lead others in these activities.   I currently hold a CPR  AED Certification through the American Heart Association.  My wife will help Co-Lead this camp with me.  She is a Co-op teacher at Cornerstone Church of Knoxville and has previously taught 5th grade.    Survival Camp #2 Girls 6-12 $60 for first child $40 for each sibling. Bring a water bottle, clothes to get dirty in, and I will provide a snack.
