Hunger Action Conference: Healing the Past for a Healthy Future

The Hunger Action Conference is a day-long event that brings together over 300 Foodbank partners, other non-profits, state agencies, advocates, business leaders, volunteers, elected officials and concerned citizens to learn about and discuss the charitable food system and the issues of hunger, health, and poverty. If you have any questions, please contact Jen Messier, jmessier@vtfoodbank.org. This year’s conference theme is “Healing the Past for a Healthy Future”.  Our keynote speaker is Dr. Ken Epstein.  Dr. Epstein provides facilitation, coaching and consultation to organizations and entities implementing culture change using a trauma informed and equity lens.  At this year’s conference, we will explore what it takes to become a network of healing organizations.  Traumatic experiences from people’s pasts can have a long term impact on their lives.  We will learn about trauma informed systems, and practices to promote health and wellness. Workshops will also cover topics such as poverty and hunger, food systems, and more!
