Walking Event: Fort Hood

Daily, Dawn to Dusk. The walk includes the 4th Infantry Division Museum, the 1st Cavalry Division Museum (MON-FRI 9am to 4pm and WEEKENDS/HOLIDAYS 12 noon to 4pm)and several different memorials through out the main post area. The trail is mostly on sidewalks and paved walking trails with some grassy areas. NOTICE: Access to Fort Hood is controlled. We regret any inconvenience to Non-Department of Defense ID Card holders. Individual's who possess a DOD Vehicle Registration Decal and a valid DOD Identification Card can enter at any gate. All other individuals can gain access to Fort Hood ONLY through the Main Gate. A One-Time Entry Pass will be issued at the Visitors Center. Requirement for entry pass varies - weekdays a pass is normally required, weekends and holidays no pass is required. We recommend that upon entering Fort Hood you stop by the Visitors Center (when open) and pick up a pass. If Visitors Center is closed proceed to the gate area for entry. If an entry pass is required you will need a valid drivers license, current vehicle registration, proof of current insurance, and an on-post destination (Division Museums). A photo ID is required for all passengers. Please carry your photo ID at all times during the walk.
