Traveling Plate Maui “In the Kitchen” A cooking experience and reception with Maui’s top chefs Aloha! E komo mai to the Traveling Plate 2018, the 3rd Annual Statewide Culinary Tour to benefit Easterseals Hawaii. Last year Traveling Plate was wildly successful visiting Maui, Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi Island, and Oʻahu. This year we continue the voyage with the launch of new and innovative concepts as part of this statewide culinary tour. On Sunday, August 26th Maui will again host our last stop on the tour amidst the elegance of Sugar Beach Events but with a fun new twist! Enjoy a fun evening while listening to the amazing local style sounds of the band "Nevah Too Late" and learn firsthand the skills that make a top chef at this unique interactive “cooking class” where guests will get to work side-by-side Maui’s favorite chefs as they help create a locally sourced dish. Guests will travel from chef station to chef station learning skills and having fun along the way. While the chefs put the final touch on their dishes guests will enjoy a mixology demonstration by Jodi Komine of Young's Market Company and hosted beer and wine.  The night will conclude with guests savoring the fruit of their labor by sampling each dish created while enjoying live music and a unique silent auction.  For those who only want to join as a “taste tester” we will offer a limited amount of “Taster” tickets that will include arrival at 5pm for the Mixology Demo and entry to the reception. “In The Kitchen”- Chef Driven Cooking Class, Mixology Demo & Reception 3pm-7:30pm (all supplies will be provided) $95   Mixology Demo and Reception only 5pm-7:30pm $75 Participating Chefs & Featured Dishes: Executive Chef Lee Anderson of Sugar Beach Events Seared Scallop with Olowalu Tomato Jam & Thai Style Red Quinoa Executive Chef Chris Damskey of Montage Kapalua Bay Coconut Shrimp Satay with sweet and sour chili sauce Executive Chef Eric Morrissette of Fleetwood’s on Front St. Fresh Chelsea Gem Oyster, Lobster Ceviche, Cilantro, Spearmint Oil Chef de Cuisine Taylor Ponte of The Mill House Taro Leaf Arancini, Bone Marrow Creme Fraiche, Pickled Shallots Private Chef Bella Toland Thai Beef Salad  This August 2018, the Traveling Plate HI joins ranks with restaurants across ka pae ʻāina o Hawaiʻi, as Restaurant Ambassadors, to celebrate locally sourced food and increase awareness of Easterseals Hawaii.
