Description
Hi Guys, I hate to say it but the water is not getting any higher and the weather is not getting any better for the river trip. I am going to change my RSVP to a no but I am not canceling it. Please know unless someone says they will be your "host" this will be an on your own event. I don't like doing this but I don't want to cancel for the people who do want to go. A lot of the members that rsvp'd yes are now changing their minds and saying no. Not sure this is the best time for this event with the weather being so hot. Please let me know if any one wants to "host" this event. Thanks!! Kim Lets join POF’s (www.plentyoffish.com a singles website) 2nd Annual Tubing Trip on the Guadalupe River leaving from Mountain Breeze Camp, Texas 78130. **Please come Friday night so we can leave with the POF group on Saturday morning at 10. If you have to come late Friday night or early Sat am please let me know. I would like to rent a house right next door to the campground. If you are interested please let me know asap. I have had 3 people say they are interested. I need a minimum of 10 if that house is still available more if not** We will get in the river Saturday, July 25th at approximately 10:00 am and tube most of the afternoon. If you wish to make it a fun camping weekend, you can choose to camp one or both nights, or you can just meet us Saturday morning and tube during the day. This should be a fun trip as we are hoping to have POF members from various cities in Texas and some from Oklahoma, so come out and meet some new people from all over the state. It's a very easy trip, as you can show up at the Mountain Breeze campground without a reservation. We will set up in the far north overflow camping area. It is $20 ($10 per person per night, two night minimum) for the weekend to camp, whether you stay one night or two. Tube rentals are $15 per day. The campground has hot showers and a restaurant/sports bar and grill on site. If you prefer to camp beside the river, the price is $12.00 per person per night, Minimun $40.00 per site per night. ***This event is BYOB.*** This trip is “weather dependent,” so if the Guadalupe river is not safe because of floods or drought, we will not go. Or if the weather is obviously going to be very bad over the weekend, we will cancel the trip. Since you can just show up without a reservation, we can reschedule the trip if need be. No money has been paid out, so there's no risk! Storms in the area are very brief so even if the forecast is for rain, we'll go. It's only if there is extraordinarily bad weather will we cancel. RULES OF THE RIVER *No Glass or Foam Products on the Water (up to $500 fine) *No Trespassing, Respect Private Property (up to $500 fine) *No Littering (up to $500 fine) *Drink responsibly- Public Intoxication and Minor in Possession laws will be enforced. Law enforcement and emergency medical services are available to protect you and the river !! However, they stop collecting money at 1am. If you show up after 1 am, you will need to go to the office, first thing in the morning, to get a wristband and a parking pass. FINDING US Follow the map and you shouldn't have any problems finding us. Here are a few other ways to locate our group: 1. When you drive in, tell the person at the gate you are with the POF group. Ask where we are. 2. We will have POF signs on some of our cars. So worst case you can look at each car parked for a POF sign. We will also will try to have some signs near the campground so look at the posts by the cars for a sign. CARPOOLING A lot of people prefer to carpool. If you wish to share a ride, or are looking for a ride, post in the FORUMS. ARRIVAL TIMES There will be some people who drive in on Friday to camp both nights. Most people will be coming in Saturday morning to tube and then spend Saturday night. A lot of people from nearby San Antonio or Austin may decide just to come on Saturday morning for the day. For those wanting to meet up with us Saturday morning, I recommend you arrive NO LATER THAN 9:30 am. We plan to get going around 10 am which should get us off the campground by 10:30 and into the river at 11 am.
