For some bands, the recording studio is everything and touring is an afterthought. This was definitely not the case for the Marshall Tucker Band – they built their reputation upon their live performances. From the start, the group excelled at onstage improvisation, winning them stature as a pioneering jam band. To fully grasp what Marshall Tucker was capable of in their 1970s heyday, you had to hear – and see – them in action on the road.
