Description
Free screening of October Sky (1999) with a running time of 110 minutes. The true story of Homer Hickam's fascination with rocket science is a fitting end to the 2009 Year of Astronomy. Based on Hickam's memoir, Rocket Boys, this coming of age film is set in the late 1950's and stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Homer and Kansas City's own Chris Cooper as his father. Rated PG. Screening takes place in the Linda Hall Library Auditorium.
