Javascript Developer

Responsibilities:

As a Javascript Developer you will be responsible for taking ownership of front-end engineering projects using object-oriented JavaScript, various JavaScript libraries, HTML, and CSS. You will take complex problems and provide polished, intuitive and usable solutions.

We seek a candidate with experience in:

  • Object-oriented JavaScript
  • HTML, XHTML, and CSS
  • Table-free layouts and web standards
  • Server-side scripting

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail: Make sure you read the entire job description, paying close attention to the "Important notes" and "How to apply" sections.

  • Object-oriented JavaScript programming: Your experience must include closures, class creation, object instantiation and inheritance. You should also have extensive experience with JavaScript frameworks, preferably jQuery.

  • HTML and CSS: You must be able to hand-code to standards without error, keeping content and presentation separated.

  • Web standards and cross-browser compatibility: You must have experience building web applications that support an array of web browsers (Safari; Chrome; Firefox; Internet Explorer 6, 7 & 8) using the latest web standards and best practices.

  • Server-side scripting: You need to have experience with server-side scripting languages like Perl, PHP, Ruby, Python, etc.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills: You must excel in a team environment, aware of how your code will affect other developers and projects. You must be able to collaborate with others to solve complex problems with tight time lines.

Important notes:

  • This is a software engineering position, not a UI/web designer role.
  • This is a full time, on-site position. Telecommuters and contractors need not apply.
  • You should be comfortable working on a Mac.
