Gainesville Exploration January Meeting

Visit University of Florida's Florida Museum of Natural History and Devil's Millhopper Sinkhole in Gainesville, Florida. The museum is one of the best in Florida with hands-on activities, a butterfly pavilion and lab, interactive displays, and loads of fun! http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/ Admission to the Museum is FREE, however donations are gladly accepted. The butterfly Gardens are separate and fees are $8 per adult/$5 per child and can be paid at the Museum. Devil's Millhopper is a unique natural habitat-a sinkhole! This State Park is one-of-a-kind and is an archeological specimen of Florida History. We will watch the information video about the history of the sinkhole, then walk the trails and down into the sinkhole! The park is handicap accessible, however the walk into the sinkhole is not. Strollers can be taken on trails, but again not down the sinkhole. http://www.floridastateparks.org/devilsmillhopper/ Fees are $3 per vehicle up to 8 people and must be paid in cash at the park. Carpooling is highly encouraged and don't forget to bring your lunch, drinks, good walking shoes, and bug repellent!
