Description
UI School of Art and Art History
Reception: Thursday, November 12 from 5:30-7:00 pm
The UI School of Art & Art History presents works from the University of Iowa Thesis Gallery. A retrospective on the history of the School, this exhibition features 55 works, including paintings, prints, drawings, metal work, ceramic, design, sculpture and inter-media. The Thesis Gallery consists of nearly 8,000 artworks given to the School of Art and Art History by graduating MFA students since 1939. Items from the collection are available for rent by University colleges, schools and offices on an annual basis. For the exhibition, special emphasis has been given to works that are infrequently displayed due to their special requirements for a venue.
