Melissa Etheridge's 2007 album, The Awakening reflects on her journey as a rock musician and breast cancer survivor - initially diagnosed in 2004. She wrote, "I Need to Wake Up" for Al Gore's slide show film, "An Inconvenient Truth" and won an Academy Award for her inspiring song.
