      14th Annual Live Chefs Auction Benefitting the Pendleton Foundation

      The 14th Annual Live Chefs Auction fundraiser will be held Thursday, November 1, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. at the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa, benefitting the Pendleton Foundation.

      Guests have the opportunity to bid on 14 of the Coachella Valley’s most spectacular chefs. Successful bidders will have their chef prepare a private meal for eight, either at the patron’s home or the chef’s restaurant at a future date.

      Tickets to the event are $150 ($75 tax deductible) and include an outdoor wine reception where chefs showcase the preparation of appetizers for guests to enjoy, followed by a hand-crafted, multi-course dinner prepared by four of the Valley’s leading chefs. Following dinner is the always-entertaining auction showcasing the talented chefs and their fabulous dinner packages, along with countless surprises.

      Executive chefs from the following restaurants have previously participated: The Parker Palm Springs, Ruth’s Chris, Cork Tree, Hyatt Grand Champions, Cork & Fork, The Ritz Carlton, Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, Tommy Bahama, Vintage Club, Thunderbird Country Club, Roy’s, and Renaissance Esmeralda Resort.

      Founded in 2005, the Foundation is named for Karen Pendleton who was diagnosed with a highly aggressive form of colon cancer and could not afford the treatment necessary to save her life. The Pendletons, along with the help of friends and Chef Herve Glin, organized a chef’s auction to help raise money for Karen’s surgery. More than 20 of the Valley’s top chefs were auctioned off for private dinners and thanks to the money raised, Karen was able to have a successful surgery and has been in complete remission since then. In 2016 she was released from doctors’ care, having been cancer-free for 11 straight years.

      Today the non-profit organization is dedicated to helping meet the financial needs of Coachella Valley cancer patients with food, gas, utilities and rent assistance while in treatment. According to the Pendleton Foundation President Sean Roberts, the organization distributes more than $40,000 per month to local residents in need.
